What We Believe

What We Believe

Daily Devotional Ministries is a non-denominational Christian ministry committed to historic, orthodox Christian faith rooted in Scripture. Our mission is to help believers grow in a daily walk with Christ that is grounded in God’s Word, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and centered on Jesus. Everything we teach is shaped by Scripture.

Our beliefs shape our devotionals, teachings, and resources, guiding us to exalt Christ and equip His people to live out their faith every day.

1. The Bible

We believe the Bible—Old and New Testaments—is the inspired, authoritative, and trustworthy Word of God, without error in its original writings, fully true in all that it affirms, and sufficient for salvation, godliness, and daily living. It reveals who God is, what He has done, and how we are to live as His people. The Bible is our final authority in all matters of faith, practice, truth, and morality.

Key Scriptures:
2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 19:7–11; Hebrews 4:12; Matthew 4:4.

2. God — The Trinity

We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, of one essence, and perfectly united in love and purpose.

Key Scriptures:
Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 3:16–17; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John 14:16–17.

3. God the Father

We believe God the Father is the Creator of heaven and earth, sovereign over all things, perfect in holiness, wisdom, justice, and love. He created us in His image for relationship with Himself and calls us back to Himself through Christ.

Key Scriptures:
Genesis 1:1, 26–27; Isaiah 40:28; Psalm 103:13; Matthew 6:9; Ephesians 1:3–6.

4. Jesus Christ, the Son of God

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and perfectly revealed the Father. He died as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to heaven, and now intercedes for believers as our High Priest and only mediator. He will return personally, bodily, and gloriously.

Key Scriptures:
John 1:1–3, 14; Colossians 1:15–20; Philippians 2:5–11; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Hebrews 4:14–16; Acts 1:9–11.

5. The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God, sent by the Father and the Son to dwell in, empower, guide, convict, and comfort believers. He regenerates hearts, applies the work of Christ, produces spiritual fruit, distributes spiritual gifts, and enables us to live holy and obedient lives.

Key Scriptures:
John 14:16–17, 26; John 16:7–15; Romans 8:9–16; Galatians 5:22–25; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11.

6. Creation & Humanity

We believe God created all things good, by His Word and for His glory. He created humanity—male and female—in His image, with unique dignity, worth, and purpose. Every person, from conception to natural death, has intrinsic value and is worthy of love and protection.

Key Scriptures:
Genesis 1–2; Psalm 8:3–8; Psalm 139:13–16; Colossians 1:16; Revelation 4:11.

7. The Fall & Our Need for Salvation

We believe that through Adam and Eve’s disobedience, sin entered the world, and all humanity became separated from God, spiritually dead, and incapable of saving ourselves. We are sinners by nature and by choice, deserving God’s just judgment.

Key Scriptures:
Genesis 3; Romans 3:10–12, 23; Romans 5:12–19; Ephesians 2:1–3; Isaiah 53:6.

8. Salvation by Grace Through Faith

We believe salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone—not by our works. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus fully paid the penalty for sin, satisfied God’s justice, and secured our forgiveness and new life. Those who repent of their sin, believe in Him, and confess Him as Lord are justified, adopted into God’s family, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and given eternal life.

Key Scriptures:
John 3:16–18; Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 3:21–26; Romans 10:9–10, 13; Titus 3:4–7.

9. The Christian Life & Sanctification

We believe every believer is called to grow in Christlikeness through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Sanctification is an ongoing process of daily surrender, obedience, repentance, and reliance on God's grace as we learn to love God and others, bear spiritual fruit, and live out our faith in every area of life.

Key Scriptures:
Romans 12:1–2; Galatians 2:20; Galatians 5:16–25; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 2:12–13; 1 Peter 1:14–16.

10. The Church

We believe the universal Church consists of all who belong to Christ across every nation and generation. The local church is a visible expression of this body, gathered for worship, teaching, prayer, discipleship, fellowship, and mission. Christ is the Head of the Church, and every believer is gifted and called to serve for the building up of His body.

Key Scriptures:
Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:42–47; Ephesians 4:11–16; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27.

11. Baptism & The Lord’s Supper

We believe Jesus gave two ordinances to the Church:

  • Baptism — a public declaration of faith, symbolizing union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.

  • The Lord’s Supper (Communion) — a memorial of His sacrifice, proclaiming His death until He returns.

These do not save us but point to the finished work of Christ and our participation in it.

Key Scriptures:
Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3–4; 1 Corinthians 11:23–29.

12. The Return of Christ & Eternity

We believe Jesus Christ will return personally and bodily to judge the living and the dead, restore all things, and reign forever. God will raise the dead bodily, rewarding believers with eternal life in His presence in a new heaven and new earth, and those who reject Christ will face eternal separation from God. This hope leads us to live in holiness, perseverance, and joyful expectation.

Key Scriptures:
John 14:1–3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; 1 Corinthians 15:50–58; 2 Peter 3:10–13; Revelation 20:11–15; Revelation 21–22.

13. The Great Commission

We believe every follower of Jesus is called to participate in His mission—to proclaim the gospel, make disciples, baptize new believers, and teach them to obey everything Christ commanded. As a ministry, our mission is to help believers grow in their daily devotion to God so they can live out this calling with boldness and purpose.

Key Scriptures:
Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:17–20.

14. Scripture & Spiritual Formation

We believe that spiritual growth is a lifelong process that takes place through the work of the Holy Spirit as we engage with God through His Word. Scripture is not only true and authoritative—it is the primary means by which God transforms our minds, aligns our desires with His will, and shapes us into the likeness of Christ. Personal devotion, Bible study, obedience, and reflection are essential rhythms of spiritual formation.

Through daily fellowship with God in Scripture, we are equipped to discern truth, resist spiritual deception, walk in wisdom, and grow in love for God and others.

Key Scriptures:
Psalm 1:1–3; Psalm 119:9–16, 105; Joshua 1:8; Romans 12:1–2; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; John 17:17.

15. Prayer & Worship

We believe prayer is a vital expression of faith—intimate communication with God that aligns our hearts with His purposes, strengthens our trust in Him, and deepens our relationship with Christ. Prayer is both personal and corporate, expressed through thanksgiving, confession, intercession, and petition, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

We believe worship is a whole-life response to the glory of God, expressed through praise, obedience, service, and devotion. Worship includes gathered praise among believers and daily surrender in every area of life, as we present ourselves to God as living sacrifices.

Key Scriptures:
Philippians 4:6–7; 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18; Matthew 6:9–13; Ephesians 6:18; Psalm 29:2; Romans 12:1–2; John 4:23–24; Hebrews 13:15.

Our Posture

We recognize that no statement can exhaust all that Scripture teaches. We affirm that the Bible itself is our final authority for faith and conduct.

Wherever you are on your faith journey, our heart is to walk with you toward Jesus—to help you know Him through His Word, grow in daily devotion, and live out your calling in His strength.
